Shenzi, a tsabhua with a hyena-marked pelt and Citrus, a dazzling iridescent aquatic kukuri, were off on the adventure of a lifetime. You just hadn't gotten to see any of it–but it was awe-inspiring, actually. They'd traversed into an ancient temple hidden deep within the L'Hatzif jungle, dodged floor-step traps laced with poison arrows, and also fought an army of undead mummies. Despite Citrus' apparent disinterest in getting her claws dirty, her massive horns could deal some serious damage! Shenzi dropped a heavy sarcophagus lid on the last mummy and dusted off her hands, giving a delighted sigh.

"Time to receive the treasure?" Citrus cooed, excitedly twisting her flowing tail back and forth. "Exactly!" Shenzi replied, her heart beating fast in her chest. The tsabhua was used to being cooped up with her colony, breathing oxygen-deprived air through a filter, and being bossed around by a runt much smaller than her. But exploring deep underground–now this was where she truly felt in her element, and with a vibrant "yes girl" like Citrus supporting her, there was no stopping the duo. Well, other than like, violations of ethical standards and archeological law, but you win some, you lose some.

Shenzi approached the giant darkstone door, eyeing an ancient mask. "The two amethysts–" Citrus gasped as she realized it, "Look! The eyes are empty." Shenzi gave a hearty purr and lifted them into place, finding that they fit perfectly into the grooves. The mask's mouth popped open and it twisted around, activating some internal gear mechanism. Dark dust lifted into the air, causing the two to cough and sputter. Nearby, mushrooms glowed faintly, sending out veins of light as if they were communicating excitement. Their soft yellow light lit the dark cave, illuminating shallow pools on the floor.

"Take your pick from treasures four," the mask laughed, "Or your life will be no more." There was definitely someone behind that voice. Citrus blinked, her vision focusing on a set of rare treasures before the two–each sitting on its own pedestal–almost too pristine to be ancient. "Just one?" Shenzi thought aloud. The first treasure, on a dark stump of L'Hatzif wood, was a large purple-and-red mushroom. "Cure for all," read inscribed text in modern script. The second, sitting on a porcelain pedestal, was a jade so massive that it must've been the largest in the world. "So beautiful!" Citrus breathed, admiring her grinning reflection in it. "My vote's for this one!"

The third, sitting atop a pedestal of sandstone, was a chalice filled with… What smelled like red wine? "Cup of everlasting drink," this one read. "Uck–I've got enough water around me, thank you very much!" Shenzi shook her head, and Citrus laughed. The last item was a golden idol, sitting and hugging its chest. "Totem of spirit–and video games," the text had been altered. "I'm starting to think you know, something is awfully not ancient about this," Citrus giggled. "Me too," Shenzi admitted, staring deeply into the darkness in case hidden cameras may have been watching them.

"I mean, they're all good." Shenzi sat on the hard stone surface, nearly crushing a luminescent mushroom. Her twitching tail tip showed her impatience. "But which one?" Citrus gave a shrug and pointed to the gemstone. "The only one that's useful for everything–money!" And while Shenzi usually would've been scolding Skritch right about now, this time she laughed, because she agreed. "Well, I don't plan on playing any video games soon either, so let's do it!"

Citrus made her way forwards, long tail nearly toppling the other pedestals as she gladly plucked up the giant green jade. Without hesitation, she hugged it against her chest–but the temple began to shake angrily. "No!" The deep voice called out, "You've decided to choose greed, and for that, a doctor you will need!" Shenzi stood patiently, her hunter's eyes glancing around the room to determine where the trap would come from–so far, nothing. The aquatic gave a light cough, as if to say, any minute now...

"Oh!" She grinned suddenly, turning to Citrus–who refused to let the ominous threat interfere with her bonding time with her new gemstone. "I know how this works–once we walk out, a huge boulder is gonna crash down, and we'll have to run or get squished!" The aquatic thought about that for a brief moment, stared between the gemstone and Shenzi, and then finally acquiesced, handing it over to her. "You're faster than me," she admitted, "My webbed feet are made for the ocean! Can you outrun it?"

Shenzi's face lit up with a wicked grin. "Of course I can!" She declared.

"Oh, dang nab you both!" It was the voice from the tomb--but now lacked the deep vigor. Out of the darkness stepped a L'Hatzif native--a grumpy old tsabhua named Okavango. "So there's the man behind the curtain!" Citrus puffed up her flowing fins and crossed her arms, but maintained a mischievous glint in her eye. "Yes, yes," Okavango waved at them, "You've got it. A boulder chase trap. But how did you know?" He furrowed his eyebrows. He eyed the glowing mushrooms at his feet warily, kicking one away.

"Isn't it obvious?" Citrus and Shenzi both said at the same time. "I've only seen the movie, like, two dozen times!" The aquatic raised her arms. "Well, we'll catch you on the other side, tomb-voice man," Shenzi laughed, "I've got a boulder to outrun and a jade to bring back!"
