Aristaeus stretched lazily along the thick tree branch he was currently laying upon. The limb creaked and groaned as the blue and white Tsabhua moved.

"Careful, Don't break the branch." Dionysus warned as he sat facing away from the tree. The end of the tree branch gently waved in the air near the Aerobic Tark'ee's ear. He stared out across the waving golden fields of endless grasslands. The gently breeze made the tall grass ripple like waves on the water.

Next to Dionysus, Alole lay in the shade of the tree. It had taken them two weeks of searching before they came upon any indication to the prey they were hunting. And now they were resting and making the plans needed in order to do what they had set out to do. The near impossible task of walking among the famous flowering hounds of Mireh. Somewhere out there in the tall golden fields was a pack of flowering hounds.

It was Alole who had noticed the prints in a patch of soft dirt. It had rained the night before and the ground was wet and had been perfect for imprinting.

There had been a short discussion on how they were going to be tracking the herd. Dionysus had suggested that he could fly and track them from the air.

"I don't think that would be a good idea. They could easily see you from the sky. And there are not very many flying creatures here. " Aristaeus had answered wisely.

Which meant that they were tracking them the slow way. Wading through the golden grass, not able to see directly in front of them at times made the tracking hard. Dionysus had lost count on how many times they had lost track of the pack only to find it again days later. But now they were close. They had found very fresh tracks in the soft moist soil and Alole had stumbled upon freshly flattened golden sheaths of the grass where a large animal had lain, or a pack of smaller animals had gathered.

"Well shall we go?" Aristaeus asked he nimbly jumped down from the branch which made the tip thwak Dionysus on the head.

"Ouch!" Dionysus hissed as he rubbed his head where the branch had hit him. He gave Aristaeus a stern look.

"Sorry." Aristaeus said although the smile on his face said otherwise.

Alole just shook his head. "You guys are just wasting time. Let's go."

They left the tree and headed into the tall golden grass. Aristaeus could not see over the towering grass and so concentrated on finding the trail again. During the night some of the grass had recovered, making finding the trail hard. It was Dionysus, who was tall enough to see over the grass to notice where some of the grass was still flattened. Alole took the lead and they all followed the trail in a single file line. They walked on in silence for quite some time. The only sounds were the swoosh of the grass as they moved through them or if a breeze came through, ruffling the tops of the grass together.

Alole suddenly stopped and stooped down. "They are close!" he hissed out to his companions.

Dionysus and Aristaeus crept closer to see what had made Alole stop. Being both hunters they immediately recognized the tell tale signs of the small mound of dirt. And the smell that was coming from it confirmed it.

They were indeed close. They would have to hope that the wind was blowing toward them so that their scent would be hidden.

They walked on, slower this time. Dionysus and Alole made sure to duck their heads so that they would stay hidden.

It was soon evident that they were indeed following a very fresh trail. More and more of the grass was trampled down and it was now very easy to follow. Curious Aristaeus peeked over the grass quickly then he ducked down again.

"They're here!" He said just loud enough for Dionysus and Alole to hear him. Excited Dionysus peeked over the grass. His brown coloring hiding him more than the other two he was able to see the herd. They had managed to sneak into the middle of the pack of Flowering Hounds.

Suddenly all around them the hounds started braying their mournful song. It sent shivers up and down Dionysus' spine. They had actually done it. They were walking among the Flowering Hounds of Mireh.
