Konno and Hashbrown did their best to follow Rozwel's instructions. As the belemoid stayed in the patient room to speak with Mouse, and explain the treatment plan for the injured leg, the two whelps were tasked with gathering up the bandage materials so Rozwel could show both them and Mouse how to wrap Mouse's injured leg.

Konno and Hashbrown trotted to the back of the hospital where the wide open room with all of the fun machines and supplies was. Here was where the doctors and assistants could prepare a patient to go into surgery, tackle difficult cases, run bloodwork, and kept their medications and supplies. It was a bright room with clean white counters and two wet tables that had covers on top- perfect for laying a patient on for something icky like flushing a wound, without causing messy fluids to go everywhere. There was a small window to the outside that showed the beach colony of Tsidal. Currently a storm was still raging outside, big droplets of water smattering against the window, obscuring most everything from vision as the darkness outside contrasted with the bright lights of the clinic.

Bandage material had been laid out previously by Rozwel so that the whelps could see how one would wrap a wound and take care of it. This was very convenient as neither Konno or Hashbrown knew where the bandage material lived normally in the clinic. Hashbrown scooped up a basket in his beak and looked expectantly at Konno. Konno huffed. "Why do I gotta gather up the stuff!" He complained at his friend. Hashbrown just wiggled his butt playfully and held the basket high, proud to have grabbed it first.

With a grumble, Konno swept all the supplies off the counter into the basket- a bit haphazardly. The whelps trotted back to Rozwel and Mouse as Rozwel finished explaining their plan of action and Mouse was affirming that everything sounded good. "Ah you've got everything. Very good!" Rozwel asserted as they entered with the basket of supplies.

"Now Mouse, these two are going to help me do an initial cleaning of your wound. You won't have to do this again, and this is the part I said might hurt a bit. So Konno- why don't you chat with Mouse and be a good distraction. Hashbrown, I know you've got a strong stomach, so you can help me out." Rozwel directed the people around them to their various responsibilities- with Mouse's simply being try not to think about pain or discomfort.

They got to work flushing the wound with a dilute betadine solution, making sure nothing yucky remained before the bandaging step. Konno- for his part, took his job of distraction very seriously and rambled on and on with Mouse about rain and dirt and shiny things you could find that others had left behind. After Rozwel and Hashbrown finished this important work, they let the wound dry for a moment while Rozwel continued explaining.

"You did a great job weathering that. Now this part I do want you to pay attention to Mouse. This is what you'll need to do to the wound every other day for about a week and a half to make sure it heals. It's easier if you can get a helping hand to do so- especially a tsab since their thumbs are a bit better for this work, but we can make do just fine."

Rozwel demonstrated applying a cream that had antibacterial properties and a steroid effect to help the healing of the wound. They then applied a padded bandage across the wound to keep the cream in place. Konno and Hashbrown looked on with Mouse as Rozwel showed that the cream- in addition to helping the healing process, also helped the bandage pad stay in place. Rozwel then wrapped the wound in gauze, taking care to show that you needed to wrap the gauze over the hock so that it wouldn't slide down easily and defeat the purpose. Then they applied a harder self-adhesive bandage to the top of the gauze wrapping in the same manner, wrapping it up and down around the leg, making sure to go over the hock.

The belemoid doctor, satisfied with their work nodded at Mouse, who had watched intently and been a perfect patient. Mouse would be all ready to resume traveling. Konno and Hashbrown readied themselves to go get the meds Rozwel had mentioned in addition to the cream. Their work here was done.
