Rozwel reentered the waiting room area, taking a moment to breathe in and out while Konno and Hashbrown had gotten into a wrestling match in the lobby. The rain- while dark and piercing, was relaxing and Rozwel enjoyed the sound of it hitting the wide windows for a bit, the patients all taken care of at the moment.
Breaking her peaceful moment, a pale tsab quickly opened the door and slipped in out of the rain, glancing up as the bell on the door heralded the entry. The tsab clearly didn't enjoy the noise, and closed the door swiftly.
Rozwel offered a smile and Konno and Hashbrown broke apart, aware that they had new company that they didn't want to act disrespectfully towards. "Hello, welcome in. How can we help you?" Rozwel queried the new tsab. Vego glanced at the tarkee whelps slightly suspiciously, but addressed Rozwel all the same. "I tripped earlier in the week and this pain hasn't gone away in my knee. I hear you're the person to come to for injuries."
Rozwel nodded. "Absolutely, I'm Tsidal's main doctor- Rozwel, and we'll see what we can do for you. These are my assistants today", and she gestured towards Konno and Hashbrown who sat up straighter, listening keenly. Vego nodded and gave a quick introduction as well.
The belemoid took Vego to a patient room to do a thorough examination, and it quickly became apparent to Rozwel that this injury might be more substantial than a small sprain. "Konno and Hashbrown, can you go turn on the Xray machine for me? You won't be able to help me out with X-rays because I don't want you exposed to radiation, but just turning on the table won't hurt. It needs to warm up so we can use it."
The Tarkee scampered off to do so. Rozwel turned her attention back to Vego. "I want to take xrays to see if this is a sprain, a break, or something like a ligament tear. We'll have to let the X-ray machine warm up and then take some measurements of your leg and knee area, as that seems to be where the pain is mainly."
Vego nodded, not too enthusiastic about the idea of this injury being worse than a sprain. The tsab didn't really have time to sit around for days recovering. Rozwel took her leave to go prep the X-ray machine but assured Vego that she would be back shortly to get him and take him back to the radiograph room.
In the meantime, Vego looked around the waiting room. There were a couple posters on the wall- one talking about the importance of maintaining a healthy diet, and how this improved longevity and even joint and bone health. The other talked about a classic flying parasite that the tsab was all too familiar with. It had a nasty picture of a flying insect with a long proboscis that somehow also had teeth. The rest of the room consisted of a cabinet with a counter containing some doctors instruments. A trash can sat in the corner. The lights overhead were bright and white- a sharp contrast from the outside storming beachside Vego had come from.
In the back, Rozwel checked on Konno and Hashbrown. "We turned on the machine!" Hashbrown announced. "Anything else you want us to do?" Konno asked, ready for more instructions. Rozwel smiled at them. "You did great, why don't you go see if Maztik needs any help while I take these X-rays?" The Tark'ee exchanged a weary glance but nodded and went off to find the grouchier doctor. Konno and Hashbrown would've much rather stayed with Rozwel as she worked.
Rozwel punched in the numbers for a leg on the machine and trotted back to get Vego. She brought with her a wheelchair. "I can wheel you back- no need to put undue strain on your leg if we don't need to" she told the pale tsab. Vego shrugged and climbed into the wheelchair.
Taking the X-rays was painless, and after staring intently at the pictures, Rozwel came out of the dark room with good news. "It doesn't appear to be broken, or a torn ligament. I'd say it's just a bad sprain and we can fix it with a brace and some anti inflammatories. I'd prefer if you would take some time to rest, and don't overdo it, but I know we can't all do that, so just let me know if you're still in pain when those pain meds run out and we can get you more- and wear this brace!"
Vego nodded, and accepted the pain meds and the brace, ready to be out of the hospital as soon as possible.
